Mark Binns

President, CEO, and Director

Mark Binns has over 20 years of experience building customer-driven sales and marketing strategies. Mark has founded, built, and sold two consulting companies that provided strategic advice on customer acquisition and revenue growth to Fortune 1000 technology companies including RIM, Cisco and Rogers. Mark has also scaled two SAAS based software businesses in the B2C and B2B spaces into leaders in their respective markets.

Mark is a Dean’s Honors graduate of the Ivey MBA program and Graduate of the Computer Science Honors program at Acadia University. Mark has led his companies to PROFIT HOT 50 and PROFIT HOT 100 awards, and was nominated by the Dean of the Richard Ivey School of Business for the prestigious business award of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40”.


Michael Vogel

Founder, VP Technology and Director

Michael Vogel is a serial entrepreneur & engineer with a strong track record as a founder, senior executive, CEO/CTO, board member and advisor with a decade of success in tech: Bitcoin / Blockchain, FinTech, hardware & software, and hyper-growth startups.

His specialty is taking new ideas and products from concept to successful delivery to market. In his career thus far, Michael has personally founded two multi-million dollar companies.

Michael founded Netcoins in 2014, served as its first CEO & CTO, and bootstrapped the company from $0 to almost $20MM of sales revenue until it was publicly listed in 2018. He presently serves as a director, shareholder & VP of Netcoins.

Formerly he was also a delegate selected by the US State Department to represent Canada at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Stanford, California.

In 2010 Michael graduated from Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Electronics and Systems Engineering.

Mitchell Demeter

VP Partnerships and Business Development

Mr. Demeter is a serial entrepreneur with a vast range of experience. He is an expert at building strategic relationships and recognizing profitable opportunities early on. Mr. Demeter is a pioneering figure in the digital currency industry. Along with Jackson Warren, he brought the world its first bitcoin ATM and first physical bitcoin brokerage in 2013.

Mr. Demeter was also the co-founder of one of Canada’s first cryptocurrency exchanges, responsible for business development, where he established several key global relationships and deep market liquidity.

Dave Kennett

VP Sales
Mr Kennett is a seasoned SaaS and Software sales leader with over 20 years of progressive business development and sales leadership experience.
His experience has centered around start up, turn-around and hyper-growth situations. He was the BC Director of Sales for Autotrader.ca for 3.5 years helping lead through a critical transformation of the company from print to digital. Online revenue grew dramatically in that time and the organization was sold for $750 million to a private equity firm in 2011. He then went on to become VP Sales and Business Development at Payfirma, one of Canada’s leading mobile payment providers. There he was responsible for leading the sales team to new heights and was in charge of pioneering the growth of the FI channel.  Most recently he was head of sales at buddybuild which was acquired by Apple in January 2018. 

Kevin Ma

Chief Financial Officer and Director

Mr. Ma, is a principal and the founder of Skanderbeg Financial Advisory Inc., specializing in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and senior executive and management advisory. Mr. Ma is currently acting CFO for First Cobalt Corp. where the company recently completed a 3-way merger valued at over $150 million, creating the single largest cobalt exploration company by market capitalization. Mr. Ma has been involved win over $200 million in corporate finance transactions. Mr. Ma was the Director of Finance for Alexco Resource Corp. at the time it developed and subsequently operated a silver mine in the Yukon, Canada.

Mr. Ma is currently acting as Director for Carl Data Solutions Inc. (CSE: CRL) and Molori Engery Inc (TSXV: MOL), CFO for First Cobalt Corp. (TSXV: FCC), Chakana Copper Corp. (TSXV: PERU) and Kenadyr Mining (Holdings) Corp. (TSXV: KEN) and senior officer and director for several privately held companies.

Mr. Ma is a Chartered Accountant certified by the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, and holds a Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia.


Mark Healy


Mark Healy is the Executive Director of The Ivey Academy at Ivey Business School in London and Toronto. He is responsible for all aspects of the business, including strategy, operations and the P&L. Since joining in 2016, Mark has repositioned and grown the business by 40%, adding a number of significant new corporate clients – such as BDC, GTAA, Cascades, CPPIB and TD Bank – and also adding six new public programs to the portfolio – including Analytics, FinTech and Design Thinking.

Mark also holds a number of other positions, including President of the strategy and brand consultancy MHC Group, and Brand & Marketing Advisor at The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo.

Prior to joining Ivey Mark was CMO at Tennis Canada where he led a sweeping re-brand. The effort resulted in triple digit increases in brand and digital metrics, double digit increases in grassroots participation, fan interest and sponsorship revenue, and a nomination for Marketer of the Year from CAMP. Mark also spent over ten years in management consulting and advertising, and in previous life he started his career as a chemical engineer in pulp & paper, rubber and biotech.

Mark lives with his wife Charlotte, his daughters Evangeline and Imogen, and his bulldog McDuff, in Paris Ontario.

Alex Tong


Mr. Tong is currently the Partner and Director of Calibre Capital Corp., a private merchant bank and advisory firm. He has over 15 years of experience in finance, including 12 years in financing, management and administration of mining operations and development projects in North America, Africa and other jurisdictions. He has been involved with numerous financings and acquisitions and has listed companies on both the TSX and NYSE. He was previously the Director of Finance for Lucara Diamond Corp, where he assisted the Lucara team in achieving over $1 billion in sales and paid over $300 million in cash dividends.

Mr. Tong is a Chartered Professional Accountant certified by the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University.

Desmond Balakrisnan


Mr. Balakrishnan is a Vancouver lawyer and has practiced law as a partner at McMillan LLP since February 2002. Mr. Balakrishnan is now, or has been in the last five years, a director or officer of 15 public companies or reporting issuers. Mr. Balakrishnan received his Law Degree from the University of Alberta in June 1997 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in May 1997. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University in June 1994.
